Frequently Asked Questions about UX Consulting & Collaboration

Clarity on process, collaboration, and conditions

How quickly can you start?

For express audits: 48–72h after contract signature.
For larger projects: Typically 1–2 weeks lead time for kick-off + deep-dive.
Interim roles: 2–4 weeks notice period (depending on current commitments).

Remote or on-site?

Preferred model: Hybrid (remote + occasional on-site days).
Possible: 100% remote for most services.
Recommendation: Kick-off and important workshops on-site (better dynamics).
Location: Based in [City] – available for travel in the DACH region.

What is not included?

No visual design: I provide concepts, but for high-polish UI you need a designer.
No full-stack dev: I write frontend code, but not backend/DevOps.
No long-term support: Optional retainer after project end, but no permanent employment.

How does billing work?

Fixed-price projects: 50% at kick-off, 50% upon delivery.
Time & material: Monthly invoicing, detailed timesheet.
Interim roles: Monthly fixed fee (2–5 days/week).
Invoicing: Direct billing as a freelance UX/UI designer. Invoice according to German tax law (§19 UStG small business regulation or with VAT).

What sets you apart from agencies?

Direct access: You work with me, not with junior consultants.
Research-driven: No "best practices" from blog posts, but based on research.
Technically hands-on: I can review code and prototype myself.
No vendor lock-in: I transfer knowledge and avoid dependencies.

Do you work with freelancers/agencies?

Yes, frequently! Typical setups:
• I do UX strategy → agency implements
• I do audit → your team implements fixes
• I coach your team → you remain in control
Win-win: I bring depth, you keep control.

Which service fits your project?
